UNITY Southeast to hold virtual gathering March 20

UNITY will hold virtual regional meet-ups in the coming days.

The Southeast Native youth meet-up will be held March 20 at 12 p.m. UNITY’s goal is to have Native youth from each of the tribes within the Southeast: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. UNITY Southeast representative Kaiden McGhee (Poarch Creek) and UNITY peer guide Miss Indian World Cheyenne Kippenberger (Seminole Tribe) will follow up with resources to address identified regional needs.

Other regional meet-ups are: Northeast (March 11), Pacific (March 12), Great Plains (March 13), Northwest (March 13), Southwest (March 14), Midwest (March 16), Southern Plains (March 16), Western (March 19), Rocky Mountain (March 20).

UNITY youth will help determine key regional needs for 2021 and develop strategies.

UNITY’s stated mission is to promote personal development, citizenship and leadership among Native American and Alaska Native youth between the ages of 14-24.
