The defending state champion Anadarko High School girls basketball team, which includes Seminole Tribe of Florida tribal member Lexi Foreman, is still alive in its quest to win another Oklahoma state title. Anadarko won it all in 2019. Last year’s tournament was cancelled due to the pandemic.

After notching four comfortable postseason wins, Anadarko (22-2) qualified for the eight-team Class 4A state tournament. The Lady Warriors will face Grove in a quarterfinal Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. (CST) at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. The winner advances to Thursday’s semifinals against Holland Hill or Tuttle. The state championship is scheduled to be held Saturday.

Foreman, a senior guard, had a game-high seven assists in a 47-28 win against Fort Gibson in the 4A Area III championship March 5. She scored nine points in a 62-32 win against Byng in the regional championship.

State tournament games will be broadcast on nfhsnetwork.com/playoffs/state/oklahoma. There is a fee to watch the games.
