Hard Rock Hollywood, Tampa virtually celebrate PINKTOBER

October is breast cancer awareness month, so the Seminole Hard Rock venues in Hollywood and Tampa will rock the pink for its annual PINKTOBER celebrations. Both properties will support the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Cancer fundraising initiative without the usual crowds, in deference to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since 2008, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood has donated more than $1 million to the American Cancer Society in its fight against cancer. This year guests will find new ways to raise funds for the cause. They can treat themselves to PINKTOBER themed pastries crafted by award winning pastry chef Ross Evans. Treats include a Strawberry Cheesecake Bon Bon with strawberry jam, cheesecake ganache and graham cracker crunch and a Guava Berry Cupcake with vanilla citrus chiffon and strawberry compote, topped with guava icing. Both desserts are available at the Constant Grind locations and $1 from each sale will benefit the American Cancer Society.

Plenty of PINKTOBER merchandise is available at the Rock Shop, including a face mask featuring the universally symbolic pink ribbon and a new PINKTOBER pink ribbon lapel pin.

Visitors are encouraged to show their support for PINKTOBER by using the #PINKTOBER on social media. The iconic Guitar Hotel in Hollywood will be lit in pink nightly from 10 p.m. to midnight.

The annual Making Strides Walk will feature two socially distanced options on Oct. 24: a car parade through Hugh Taylor Birch State Park or neighborhood walks. For more information, visit makingstrideswalk.org/browardfl.

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa is celebrating its 13th PINKTOBER event. Last year the property raised over $100,000 to help fund research for prevention and a cure for breast cancer, while supporting the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Cancer Walk.

Seminole Hard Rock Tampa will once again be the Pink Premier Sponsor for this year’s virtual walk, scheduled for the weekend of Oct. 17. Striders across America will participate in the “Walk Where We Are” event instead of meeting by the thousands to walk together. The organizers encourage participants to “grab and friend or a neighbor, pink out your world and walk as little or as far as you can.” More details can be found at makingstrideswalk.org/tampafl.

“We are truly honored to once again provide support to those in need and we are especially proud to work with the American Cancer Society during PINKTOBER,” Seminole Hard Rock Tampa President Steve Bonner said in a statement. “We encourage guests to come out to support this cause, while spreading a message of strength, hope and awareness for those affected by this disease.”

The Tampa venue is also hosting a #PINKTOBER Poker Open. A portion of the proceeds will go toward breast cancer research.

Limited edition PINKTOBER masks are available at the property’s Rock Shop, a “Pinktini” cocktail is available at L Bar and Center Bar and Rise Kitchen & Bakery is offering special pink cheesecake and pink vanilla eclairs throughout the month.
