A Seminole will face Florida State University’s Seminoles on the softball field this weekend.

Ahnie Jumper, Florida Gulf Coast University’s catcher from the Big Cypress Reservation, and the rest of the Eagles will play in FSU’s Unconquered Invitational in Tallahassee.

FGCU will play FSU on Feb. 26 at 8 p.m. The game will be broadcast on the ACC Network. The teams meet again Feb. 27 at 12:30 p.m. (ACC Network X).

The Eagles will be looking for their first win against the Seminoles, who have won all six previous meetings, including the most recent in 2018. Jumper has not played in a game against FSU.

FGCU (4-5) has won three of its last four games, including a two-game sweep against the University of Connecticut last weekend. FSU (7-3) is ranked No. 15 in the country.

Jumper has started all nine games this season and has one at-bat and one run scored.

FGCU’s other games in the invitational are against Florida A&M (Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. and Feb. 28 at 11:30 a.m.) and Southeastern Louisiana (Feb. 28 at 9 a.m.).
