Support programs for Tribal tourism focus of April 17 webinar News by The Seminole Tribune - April 16, 2020September 19, 2024 Pilar Thomas (Pascua Yaqui Tribe of Arizona) A webinar to discuss the support programs for cultural Tribal tourism will be held April 17 at 12 p.m. (ET). Indian law and policy attorney Pilar Thomas, a law partner at Quarles & Brady in Tucson, Arizona, will provide an overview and assessment of the recently passed CARES Act of 2020, including the Small Business Administration’s new “Paycheck Protection Program” loan program and key tax benefits. Thomas will also discuss the Title V Stabilization Fund, an $8 billion set aside for Tribal governments through the Department of Treasury. These programs have the potential to provide needed resources to Tribal enterprises and businesses across sectors, including tourism. Thomas (Pascua Yaqui Tribe of Arizona) specializes in energy, environment and natural resources law. She focuses her practice on Tribal renewable energy project development and finance, Tribal economic development, federal Indian Law and natural resources development.
