Golf tournament offers fellowship, camaraderie Sports by Eileen Soler - June 24, 2013April 13, 2015 DAVIE — When beautiful weather rolls in, golf devotees hear the sirens’ call beckoning them to the course. About 20 Tribal members answered that call on May 31 and played in a friendly tournament sponsored by the Hollywood Council. The group took to the links at the Grande Oakes Golf Club in Davie and showed off their competitive spirits and best shots. “We’re all out here to have fun,” Jason Tommie said. “But there is nothing better than first place.” Marcellus W. Osceola Jr. organized the event, which included a few prizes throughout the course for longest drive, closest to the pins, and two and three man blind draws. “It’s an opportunity to get people out to enjoy the day before the weekend,” Osceola said. “It’s always competitive whether you are playing for a Coke or if money is put up. We all have a competitive spirit and want to beat the guy next to us.” Win or lose, competitors agreed that the day was a success. Everyone in the tournament went home pleased to have spent the day with friends. Share on Facebook Share Share on TwitterTweet Share on Pinterest Share Share on LinkedIn Share Share on Digg Share
