Ahnie Jumper’s senior season on the Florida Gulf Coast University softball team starts this weekend when the Eagles host No. 21 University of Central Florida in a pair of doubleheaders at the FGCU Softball Complex in Fort Myers.

Game times are 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday; 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday. The games will air on FGCU’s live stream on YouTube Live.

Jumper, a catcher from the Big Cypress Reservation, is coming off a junior year in which she played in 22 of the Eagles’ 27 games in an abbreviated season cut short due to the pandemic. She started behind the plate in 13 games and batted .212 with two doubles, four RBI and six runs scored.

In her career, Jumper has appeared in 92 games.

FGCU went 19-8 last season.

In addition to UCF, other top 25 teams on FGCU’s schedule are No. 12 Florida State (Feb. 26-27 in Tallahassee) and No. 7 Florida (April 21 at FGCU). The regular season is slated to end May 1 followed by the Atlantic Sun Conference playoffs. The conference preseason coaches poll picked the Eagles to finish third.
