Indian River State College in Fort Pierce named Bill Morosco as its men’s basketball head coach June 22. Morosco has plenty of ties to Florida. He is a native of Wellington and a graduate of the University of Florida. His resume includes stints as an assistant coach at Barry University in Miami Shores and Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne. Most recently Morosco served as head coach for Garden City Community College in Kansas, where he guided the squad to a 22-10 record in 2021-22. He was also head coach of Independence Community College in Missouri and an assistant at Presbyterian College in South Carolina. “Coach Morosco possesses extensive knowledge of Region VIII basketball and an exceptional ability to recruit,” Scott Kimmelman, IRSC athletic director, said in a statement. “We are excited to have him back in Florida to lead and attract student-athletes to the IRSC program. We can’t wait to see where he will take the team next.” Morosco takes the helm of a program that has reached the National Junior College Athletic Association National Tournament the past two seasons.
