Two men with many years of experience in the gaming industry have been named to lead the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City – George Goldhoff and Mike Sampson. Hard Rock officials made the announcement Jan. 4. The New Jersey property opened in 2018.

Goldhoff will be president and Sampson the general manager, beginning Jan. 30.

Goldhoff’s responsibilities include financial performance, market share growth, employee engagement and development, guest experience and support of the greater Atlantic City community, according to a news release. Goldhoff was previously the president of Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati for three years. He also has management experience at gaming properties in Canada, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Tunica, Mississippi.

“I’m confident George will continue to build on the incredible success we have achieved at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City,” Jim Allen, Hard Rock International chairman and Seminole Gaming CEO, said in the release. “In just three years of rebranding our property in Cincinnati, he was able to make that casino the leader in the market and I have every reason to believe he will lead our Atlantic City team into the next era with great success.”

Hard Rock officials said it is now searching for someone to replace Goldhoff in Cincinnati.

“I look forward to working closely with the leadership team and team members to capitalize on the opportunities ahead and usher in Hard Rock Atlantic City’s next era of growth and success,” Goldhoff said in the release.

As general manager, Sampson will oversee multiple areas of operation and administration at the property. He has 32 years of experience in the casino industry and was part of the Hard Rock Atlantic City opening team. Sampson, who was born in Atlantic City and grew up in nearby Galloway, New Jersey, began his gaming career at Caesars Entertainment in Atlantic City.
