Annual basketball tournament held in memory of Lance Cpl. Herman Osceola Sports by The Seminole Tribune - June 5, 2019August 20, 2019 BIG CYPRESS — The 34th annual Herman L. Osceola Memorial Basketball Tournament was held in March at the gymnasium that is named in Herman’s honor and memory. The tournament is held each year on or around the anniversary of the death of U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Herman Osceola, who died on March 24, 1984 in a military helicopter crash in South Korea.
