A funeral procession for Seminole Tribe Fire Rescue Chief Donald DiPetrillo, who died April 30, will be held May 6 starting from T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home, 7001 NW 4th St. in Plantation.  The procession is scheduled to begin between 11:15 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. and conclude at Lauderdale Memorial Park at 2001 SW 4th Ave. in Fort Lauderdale.

A Seminole Tribe Fire Rescue Department ambulance will carry Chief DiPetrillo in the procession. Fire apparatus, marked vehicles and staff are requested to stage on the procession route to allow the fire service to pay respect to Chief DiPetrillo and his family.

After departing the funeral home, the procession will head south on NW 70th Ave. and then turn east on West Broward Blvd. and continue to U.S. 441, where it will turn south and continue to the SR 84 east exit. It will travel east on SR 84 to SW 4th Ave. It will turn north on SW 4th Ave. to the entrance of Lauderdale Memorial Park. 

The funeral service is limited to family only.  A Celebration of Life Service will be planned at a future date.

Chief DiPetrillo was the Tribe’s fire chief from 2008 until his passing at age 70 from COVID-19. He served fire departments in Broward County for nearly 50 years. He was a 1967 graduate of McArthur High School in Hollywood. 

He is survived by his mother, Joan DiPetrillo of Plantation; his brother, John DiPetrillo, wife Nancy and children of New Smyrna Beach; twin brother David DiPetrillo of Davie; son Tyson DiPetrillo, wife Yisel and children of Loxahatchee; partner Lindy Maracic of Hollywood; and many other loving family members.
